I was wondering if there are any services in SA whereby I can get a large file (1.5 Gig movie clip) sent to the UK

The alternative for me is to put it on a DVD, mail it, and hope it gets there 5 days later unscratched.

Is there any company that allows parcel sending, or some kind of transfer service (Digital post office desk) where I can take the file, have them send it, and the receiver can pick it up on the other side on a DVD or whatever 24h later?

Thank you for any help
Your information on this site is VERY informative.

Maybe as a plan 'b' - just upload the file to the free service at http://www.yousendit.com/
and they'll host the file on their server, and send the recipient an email with a link to download it from.
if you want to be sure of the 'send' - split the movie file into 3 or 4 (or more) parts using winzip, and upload it. I've received/sent movies, chopped into x7 100meg pieces via them, and its very very fast for people outside of SA, to retrieve the uploaded data..

I guess the question here is, what internet connection do you have ?

If you have ADSL, then what LGM says is the easiest plan.
It'll take you at least 12 hours to upload it all on DSL384

pretty cool...
the upload could be kinda costly though, depending on what service you use ;)

btw, welcome to MyADSL :)
