Overview of the Role
The primary role encompasses responsibility for the Products underpinning our Cloud environments in our data centres in Cape Town, from R&D through to managing and maintaining our Cloud infrastructure. You will become a Technical Lead within the team and expected to mentor and train other team members.
You will be a part of our Cloud team and will report to our Cloud Engineering Manager. Although you will regularly work autonomously, you will be collaborating with third party vendors with regard to technical Product management, with Enterprise customers for major new business proposals, and internally with our Development, Networking and Helpdesk teams.

Responsibilities
• Driving new Cloud technology implementations and enhancements, from research, design, piloting and testing to live environment deployment, configuration, integration and documentation
• Orchestration and automation of administration, management, monitoring and provisioning processes for our Cloud Products
• Solution Design for Enterprise proposals
• Escalation for resolving core Cloud support incidents

Minimum requirements
• Familiarity with Linux and Web Hosting (e.g. LAMP)
• Experience in hosting environments, with particular expertise in SAN storage (preferably NetApp), and Virtualisation technologies and management (in particular VMWare vSphere/vCenter) preferred
• Enterprise/Corporate Customer Service and/or SysAdmin experience
• Familiarity with programming languages e.g. Python; and orchestration e.g. Salt, Chef
