Role Description
This position is for a senior developer in a small, but dynamic team. Our focus is on development of web based solutions using open-source development frameworks on a linux platform. We mostly work in server-side javascript via node.js, backed by PostgreSQL.
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, with the ability to think critically and continuously strive to learn more. They should also have the ability to conceptualise a problem and derive a solution, regardless of development language. While there will be some oversight during the initial period of employment, the ideal candidate should be able to work unsupervised while still maintaining the quality of their work.
Experience
We are looking for developers with 7+ years experience in the software development field. Experience in the financial services or insurance industries would be beneficial.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
Ideal candidates should have knowledge of:
Relational databases - queries, functions, triggers, views, partitions
Coding - Object-orientation, design patterns, pseudo-code
General Knowledge and Skills
A 3+ year tertiary qualification in computer science or IT diploma is preferred, but this may be waived based on experience
Location
Illovo, Sandton. May also be required to work in our Pretoria branch up to two days a week.
Remuneration
40K to 50K CTC per month, negotiable.
