What should I know to be able to do this job?
• University degree or CTI Diploma
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical capacity as a Java Developer
• Solid experience with Java SE
• Experience/knowledge of SOAP and XML, networking, SQL Server, deep understanding of SQL
• Mature knowledge of modern development practices: version control, continuous integration, automated unit testing and code reviews
• A bonus if you know:
• Java EE and Glassfish, Jasper reports
• Have a detailed knowledge and experience of developing, supporting a real time switching system with diverse interfaces
• An understanding of payment systems in general, and have an understanding of ISO8583
• Experience in the payment industry
• Experience in mobile development
• Proven knowledge of other development languages and environments
• Exposure to SCRUM and Agile methodologies
• Exposure to banking security
What will I do every day?
Besides being a technically strong, hands-on senior Developer in a small 3 man Dev team, you will also be expected to mentor junior developers, and be a leader in your team. This could be seen as the 2IC to the CIO in future! You will be a creative problem solver and enjoy working with clients and giving your input in meetings. You should also enjoy spec writing as part of your role. You will enjoy working in a flat structure in the ever changing payments processing environment, which brings its own daily challenges.
