Senior VB.NET Development Engineer

The Company

A Software Company in Cape Town, Southern Suburbs. The Company has offices in many international locations. The company has a number of software products that it sells, delivers and maintains all around the world. As software is the heart of the business, developers play a very key role.

Technical Skills & Experience:

1. Strong VB.Net (plus Windows Forms) skills (approx. 5 years experience). The software will be moved to C# in due course.
2. Experience in best practices & standards.
3. Strong skills & experience in performance analysis & performance code tuning
4. Experience with Web Services, MS SQL Server, Python, MS Reporting Services an advantage.
5. Product design, product development, and/or product implementation experience useful
6. Role includes some Configuration Management duties (around 20%). The tool used is Accurev but experience in tool not essential
7. Experience in a Test Driven Development (TDD) & Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) advantageous.

Personal Attributes:

1. Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification advantageous
2. Agile environment so verbal/written communication, collaboration, & analytical skills required
3. Must take initiative and be self-motivated/managed.
4. Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining a balanced & logical approach
5. Be able to work overtime and standby when required (not excessive).

Salary & Benefits:

1. Salary TCC - R540,000 to R720,000
2. TCC includes Provident Fund (min 5%), Group Life and Disability and Medical Aid
3. 20 days leave per annum
4. Flexi-time policy
