My client is a well funded Canadian start-up in an exclusive partnership to deliver social gaming experiences to millions of users on a global mobile platform. Their aspirations are big and they are passionate about developing engaging, worldclass gaming experiences for their users.
They have offices in Canada and Australia and are expanding their operations to Cape Town. They believe in Agile Development and Lean Start Up principles.
What will you do?
You will have experience developing large user base mobile games and working in high traffic environments with large data problems. You will be designing and developing fun, sports, socially connected and highly
Scalable. As a senior member of the team, you will use your excellent communication skills to contribute to design and architectural reviews, and also technically lead new members of the Cape Town development team as they are recruited. You will be building for scalability and robustness as these are key requirements as they grow.
Can you apply?
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems
• Solid PHP development experience (5+ years)
• Experience writing Unit Tests
• Large scale, high traffic Mobile/Web application development
• Design and management of robust, secure and scalable systems
• Apache, MySQL, NoSQL, Memcache
• Code profiling and benchmarking
• Agile development practices and lean principles
• REL based Linux hosted in the Amazon cloud
• Amazon tools experience – RDS, ELB, EC2, S3, etc.
• Experience with API's and third party web services (REST, SOAP, XML,
JSON)
• Working experience with Git Version control (git - bit bucket)
• Experience with Issue & Agile project management tools (Jira)
• Experience with MVC code frameworks such as CodeIgnitor, Zend, etc.
• DevOps / SysAdmin skills a plus
• Demonstrable CI & CD experience in a PHP environment a plus
