The Senior Project Manager (SPM)- will be responsible for the overall project management of the Core Accounting replatform project.
The SPM will be required to manage the multi-year project from project initiation to completion. The project will consist of multiple workstreams that will require co-ordination, management, risk mitigation and pro-active communication (verbal and written) to all stakeholders including the board and board sub-committees overseeing the project. The role will be required to work closely with project managers from vendor solutions involved in the project. The role will be a contract role that will remain in place for the duration of the project.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

  • Accountable for successful project planning, tracking and delivery
  • Facilitating the end-to-end project management process
  • Coordinating cross-functional and third party project resources
  • Managing projects risks, issues, dependencies and impacts to ensure appropriate control measures are provided and implemented. Pro-actively assisting with the resolution of project issues as they adapt their approach to the context and constraints of the project,
  • Ensuring adherence to the project management methodology and governance structures
  • Providing project management artefacts in accordance with the project management methodology
  • Working closely with the BA’s, IT and testing team to ensure that projects are delivered accurately
  • Oversight and management of Governance processes and forums as required by the Project including Risk Management
  • Engagement across all Delivery Streams to ensure Governance is adhered to and to assist in issue escalation and resolution
  • Co-ordination and engagement with work stream leads to ensure objectives are met
  • Ownership of the Project Governance Framework
  • Management of Project Plans
  • Engagement and communication with Board, board sub-committees, executive team and project team. Chairing of Project Steering committees and Working Groups as might be required
  • Leadership: manage and motivate the project team to ensure consistent delivery. Manage inter-personal relationships and ensure cohesion within the project team.
  • Cost management: pro-actively manage the project budget. Act as first point of escalation for any non-budgeted spend. Pro-actively manage the budget to ensure any overruns are recouped.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Accredited project management qualification such as PMI PMP; PRINCE2 or equivalent

  • Knowledge of the Financial Markets and Instruments.
  • Minimum 10 years project management experience.
  • Must have experience of large, multi-year enterprise wide re-platform project.
  • Engagement with senior executives in a project management capacity.
