Hi everyone

Just a special note to all those members who are contract subscribers of Sentech's MyWireless.

If your contract has expired please note that you will continue paying the full contract price and not the reduced rate (out of bundle) pricing for the service.

So in other words if you signed up for a 24 month contract (to get the free modem) for a 256k connection for R849.00 per month and your contract has been completed most people would expect that the monthly pricing should reduce to the unbundled price of R699.00 per month however THIS IS NOT THE CASE!

For the past 4 months Sentech has been charging me at the contract/bundle price. On discovering this I spoke to their support and accounting departments that informed me that it is the CUSTOMERS responsibility to ensure Sentech's billing is correct and that the CUSTOMER must request the price decrease before it will be changed.

To add insult to injury Sentech refuses to refund the overcharged amounts for the past months only passing a credit for the current month stating that this is standard practice.

So if your contract has expired and they're overcharging you I suggest you send them a fax today to avoid the loss !

I'm fortunate to have my company pay for my internet connection at home so ADSL here I come!

It is in the contract, but I am pretty sure they would have to pay you the money back as it is "unjustified enrichment"

They refunded me for the previous month no problem...

Sentech Getting Tough

5 months ago I terminated my contract with Sentech for reasons probably wellkown by now. The arrogance, bad service, lack of service and poor speeds make the service a ripoff. Anyway, now theyVe handed me over to a debt collector without any prior written communication. May I suggest that someone tell them to rather consentrate on delivering better service and customer retention. These guys simply do not learn, listen or care.

I was told by their help desk that they will only reduce the debit order once the modem has been paid off if you fax them a request! So if you forget or don't realise that if your modem was bundled and it would have been paid off after 2 years, they just carry on billing you for money you do not owe!! Fraud, if you ask me.

Lying scum

From the Sentech Support FAQ:

"26 How is my contract renewed?

A 24-month customer contract is automatically renewed after the initial period to a month-to-month basis unless you request termination (one calendar months notice). The service fee will be reduced by the modem-leasing component, thus the service will be the same for the calendar month contracts."

But this is not the story you will get from the Sentech support Orcs. And no I have not been given a refund despite requesting it.

This is nothing less than complete fraud but what more can you expect from Sucktech !

Don't bother with the call centre agents - they're near useless.

Get hold of Hester Pretorius in the finance dept. - [email protected] - she's always helped me out quickly and without argument.

In the month after my contract expired I also got overcharged, but she refunded me pronto.
