I havent been able to connect for 2 days now, first my modem goes from a 46% signal, to not even being able to find the base station, then, when after 4 hours of searching, it gives me the old " computer not responding msg"

I think that there should be a dial up service included in the subscription, so that when the wireless side is not working or connecting, at least the customer who is PAYING for a service, can at least still connect to the net. There have been many times, when I have needed to connect for internet banking, or urgent email, that there has been a problem.

I am paying for a service, and if it is not doing what I am paying for, I would in the least, expect an alternative!!!!!!

Any ideas?

Not ideal, but you could try internet access from MTN:

No monthly subscriptions, but relatively high connection charges. Usable on an ad-hoc basis. Slow.

Its probably not fair to all since people (like me) would then (in theory) be paying for the dialup service but never using it. It is a good idea though.

I think they should make the towers reduce power/shut down when the server does not respond (ie. that towers login server or whatever is down - then you can pick up a new tower)

The point is to NOT have to pay anything above and beyond what you're already paying to have a connection. While the contract doesn't guarantee a connection it would be a show of good faith from Sentech if they were to implement a backup dial-in facility.
