As the title says?

Seems like it disapeared yesterday sometime.

Seems like it. Can't say when exactly it happened, but was down by 16:30. Did you also experience problems with eTV's audio since Monday? Somehow it was replaced with SABC1's.

Can confirm. Channel 38 disappeared completely yesterday. Also had sound problems on eTV the night before last, was getting SABC1 sound.

As of an hour ago the channels are back but nothing is being broadcast on any of them.

Thanks for the updates guys. I wonder what they are up to.

Have just re-scanned and all broadcasts on channel 38 have gone again, so not catching any broadcasts. DJ, what channel were you finding SABC etc on? 38 or 50?

Will have to rescan to determine which one it is, but currently getting a strong signal for both 38 and 50.

Guys, It is 38. 50 will be DStv.

The signal disappeared completely yesterday. We picked up nothing on the signal analyser. It was still there on Monday. Remember, they are still testing.

I'm guessing that this is DVB-T2? Been working smoothly for about a month, with very occasional signal drops - unfortunately our television doesn't specify whether it's using DVB-T or DVB-T2.

It's been T2 since they fired up 38 and 50.

I don't know what channel 38 or 50 translates to, but from what I can see,

530MHz QPSK 586MHz is the dstv mobile service aka dvb-h (UHF)
dvb-t2 was broadcasting fine on 610MHz until yesterday 16:11.
There is something on 706MHz, but it complains here that there is no data from NIT

Dammit I want my 5FM radio channel, when will the other private radio stations get with the program and get on the transponder.

Can the guy that tripped over the power cable, please plug it back in.

Did a scan just now and it is still down.

On http://www.sentech.co.za/content/dtt it looks like they are counting down to go digital?

Maybe they are just busy with some final tweaking. Guess we will have to seen in 15 days time.

Bleh, it really annoys me that I have to wait another ten days for a service that worked since March till last week Monday (a week after the Sentech test channel appeared).

I really hope that Sentech is not screwing with the DVB-T2 standard so only their STBs (which are basically still vapour-ware) will work.

And, for my 600th post, is anyone else in the country besides Cape Town experiencing a loss of DTT DVB-T2 signal?

bump

still no dtt.

chubster told me he can manualy select the frequency on his DVB-T2 card and can then intermittently view the channels. On my decoder if I manualy select channel 38 it will show full signal but is unable to retrieve the channel list.

Anyone have some updates?

also like IdlePhaedrus asked is there other parts except Cape Town that is also having issues?

Still nothing here either, just rescanned. Waiting for the link you sent on Sentech's site to count down to zero, which should be at 10:00AM tomorrow and will try again then. Hopes not very high
