I have just spoken to the "no help desk" and it seems that Sentech does not have a http proxy server running. Is this possible?

One would think that any service provider worth its salt would be running a http proxy in order to save on costly international bandwidth as well as to increase speed...

Two Cents? What? I have to pay????

They use a transparent proxy. It's there but you, the user, dont have to configure yourself to use it. You use it whether you want or not :D

Well, from my understanding, we do run against a transparent cache like proxy.

h4rth : is there a way to not go through this proxy then? Because I have to actually put in special requests to get things done.

Ok so here is the setup:

I have 2 PC’s at home: Mine and my wife’s.

My PC is connected with MyWireless and is running “602 Lan Suite 2004” (a small email server and web proxy) this speeds up things quite a lot for browsing etc.

The problem is that I need to setup my local proxy server with a parent proxy. As the proxy is transparent I guess I should just leave it blank…

Any thoughts?
