I hope there are some Lawyers on this forum. Due to the fact that I collected my modem from the couriers right in the beginning, they never took my Sentech original signed contract (I still have it). Sentech only have my faxed copy.

My question is, can I get out of the contract, or is the faxed copy legally binding?

I've had enough of this horrible MyWireless product.

I'm no expert but I think the Fax will hold up in court ;-(

What's the problems that you experienced ? and what package deal did you take

256K package, slower...much slower than a 56K dial-up. Thank goodness I kept my ISDN Line

im on 128k and its as slow as dial up, i thought i could download on edonkey at at 12 kb/s but im at 3kb/s

"MTU (Maximum Transfer Unit) specifies the maximum transmission unit size
of an interface. Each interface used by TCP/IP may have a different MTU
value specified. The MTU is usually determined through negotiation with
the lower driver, using that lower driver value. However, that value may
be overridden".

As for DR TCP... it's a utility that I don't think will work with the IPW modem.
(It's available on Tucows if you want to try it)

Ineviatable... rather go to this site: http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks
and run the Tweak Test II... follow through with the detail requested,
and it will tell you what your ideal MTU and other settings should be.
These MTU settings simply fine tune your PC's network settings for
the IPW Device. However... At this stage I'm not quite convinced yet!!!
IPW is still in it's early days.. and it's the next release of the IPW driver that I believe holds the secret!!!!!
(The current driver is not efficient or acceptable!)

but it aint gonna sort out my speed issues, i should be getting at least 6kb/s with 128k not getting near that

Well... over time, the facts are beginning to come to the surface.
1. Some users are getting far higher throughput than others.
(The RoDents speed site is bound to provide the evidence here).
2. We don’t know for sure if this is hardware / operating system version related.
3. We still don’t know what effect particular towers are playing in this.
4. Appears that 128K users are getting more bang for buck than 512K users.

So.... Network fine tuning is an area that may hold the key, until IPWireless
comes to the party!!!

There is already quite a lot about in these threads, and it does have an impact on your speeds, especially "tcp recieve window" and your MTU.
I suggest run the tests and make the adjustments an see for yourself.

MTU can affect your speed if the MyWireless network needs to fragment all the packets you send that are larger than the MTU used by the network.

It's strange. A lot of friends and some clients who have MyWireless are having speed problems, disconnect problems, etc.

For some reason I am fortunately connected without drops (been up now for 5 days or so), and speed is okay (about 12kb/s on 128k).

I would be interested to know if your unhappy customers
are on a 128K package??? Or is it on all packages?

cant download anything more than 3kb/s. must be the linksfield tower 110. any1 else using this tower?

128k package - overall 65% happy. Had a glorious run of 25 days with optimal bandwidth (12 to 14k per second) followed by a dismal 6 days of 3k per second, followed by disconnects and finally now averaging around 8k per second.

If a 24kbs radio steam holds for 30 mins while I'm surfing (one site at a time) then I'm happy.

I'm basically happy too. Despite the glitches, MW gives me
24/7 access, Mobile Capability and something cheaper than
ADSL. As for the occasional frustration, given time I believe
that things will settle down!

Also… for those wishing to compare my detail from DR TCP:
RWIN - 100000
Window Scaling - Yes
Time Stamp - No
Selective Acks - default
Path MTU Discovery - default
Black Hole detection - default
Max Duplicate ACKs - blank
TTL - blank
Dial Up MTU - 1450
Adapter MTU - blank

Well there are two methods
1. edit the registry (not for everyone though).
2. Use a utility like Dr Tcp
Just run the Dr Tcp utility and change the settings...then hit the save button.
(You will have to restart your dialler...or if older than Win 2000 reboot)

The MTU setting on mine is 1450, but I know others have gone with 1430.

Maybe ppl on this forum have other ideas... I would be interested to hear??
