Sentech officially Dead/Dying

I feel so proud that I was part of the team to call them on their constant bull****ting tactics.

I've personally recommended 50+ users not to go for Sentech. And I was only 1 of around 20 odd people to sit in the meeting with them discussing issues between users and the company.

Nothing has been done to improve? Wow... as the first wireless internet provider in South Africa they could have cornered the market!
 
If things goes on like they are now, then iBurps will be the second one to go...

Earlier this year, National Treasury criticised the company for squandering R500 million on the MyWireless service that should have been spent on maintenance and upgrading of the TV signal distribution system.

Eish, shame... no wonder the Treasury's jittery... :D
 
I have a MyWireless modem, and today the bloody thing disconnected like 100 times, even though I have good signal quality. It said that the remote host did not respond. I hope Sentech gets their act together.

Remote host did not respond means they're having problems with their main infrastructure

Sentech works like:

Tower -> Tower -> Central Hub -> Internet -> Central Hub -> Tower -> Tower

So even though you have great signal, if the central hub or internet on their side ***s, so does your internet, even though you can internally ping the tower and have great signal.

That's quite a system they got going there.
 
Now they need to give the spectrum they have squandered back so that a private company can make better use of it!

I must admit that all of the call center staff that I dealt with were friendly and phoned me back. Pity everything else sucked!
