Oh joy

The third national operator will be government who has a majority share in the original Telkom monopoly... man... I can just see the fierce competition to cut prices...

Frikkin hilarious.
Just highlights governments obsession with keeping total control and failure to grasp the concept and need of true competition.

They may as well be the third operator

I mean they are government and can do what they like apparently... doesn't mean they will get anything from me... call yourselves what ya like...

I'm hoping it can be a good thing. Last year, the President said that we had to bring down prices in the Telecomm’s industry if we where to be successful in the future.

ICASA steps in with proposed regulations to try sort out the growing problem and is bombarded by telkoms legal department while the rest of us sit around and wait for the delay tactics
The SNO get their license and state that they are not looking at getting into a price war with Telkom, Hence the prices remain the same.

Soooo, let the Government step in then and use Sentech to force them both to catch a wake up. We used to have some of the best Telecomms in the world when the government ran telkom. It was thought that by letting telkom go on their own, that they would do a better job... Well they have made more money that’s for sure, but our telecomms industry is going down the sh1tter.

It’s a small glimmer of hope I know, but if it will help, I'll support them all the way to destroy telkom

third national operator?

Don't you just love this third national operator BS???

If we had an open market, then maybe there would be sixteen competitors competing in different regions of the country.

what would we call them? i mean SNO has such a nice ring to it...TNO? 3NO?

Still if its just gonna be another government-run telskom clone then HELLNO! might be more fitting :-P
