As with my previous threads, I am convinicing a number of people to cancel their DSL applications/connections, and to go with Sentech (Sentech, you owe me.).

Anyway, to make sure that I do not sell them a cat-in-the-bag, can some-one that knows more please enlighten me with a few things, including, but not limited to:

- Total Cost of ownership of Telkom ADSL (512) vs the similar product from Sentech.

- Quality of the signal (Telkom ADSL vs Sentech) (speed, latency)

Application in most cases is not mission critical such gaming (CS or some other FPS) where latency is important.

I used sentech for a 7 day trial period and it sucked beyond belief.

1) Modem price is ridiculous
2) Signal was poor even though i was in a strong signal area (according to the representative). Had to hook up a pringles can for better signal??
3) downloading international was painfull
4) Kept on dropping when weather was bad (and in joburg thats alot of the time)
5) Playing games was near impossible

I think the only thing it was good for was checking my mail and browsing.

Since i got ADSL there is no comparison (Your experience may be different) with Sentech.

1) fast downloads
2) stable connection
3) super quick gaming (even beats sentech international)
4) the modem is ALOT cheaper.

So all in all i think that if u wanna do anything other than browse and check mail then dont even compare Sentech to ADSL...

(please note this was based on my personal experience and is not intended to be the view of a group of people).

I'd give it a shot but afaik its not available in PE.

As a browsing and download application, it's good (on 256 classic with a 20gb softcap that is).
On poor reception, if sold to anyone as a plug 'n play installation (no installer intervention), you might have a problem on your hands.
Hardware cost : high

ummm you cant put adsl and setech/iburst int eh same sentence

such a performance difference

adsl=awesome
sentech and iburst dodgy but good if you cant get adsl
