I have a dynamic dns client and domain name (www.netrix.co.za) that works fine locally.

When my ip changes, so does my DNS server's info.

locally, this works perfectly but when I browse my IP from abroad (using a proxy such as www.proxyfier.com or www.megaproxy.com) it says that access has been denied by some stupid host.

I then tried other working IP's in the sentech IP range and it did the same!

This is only for HTTP requests as far as I know as mail comes through to my mail server.

I have submitted quite a few support queries but am yet to receive anything back.....

They DO advertise your IP as an international IP. False advertising???

As far as I know and have seen, Sentech blocks incoming HTTP to a Sentech Device. This is basically to stop you running a website using Sentech.I think thats why your HTTP requests are dying. They don't block mail though.

I dont see why you had that problem. I too have a dynamic dns runnong locally on my machine but no hasslels with my family accessing this site from abroad.

Was it this one perhaps? http://www.myadsl.co.za/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5504 . I had a similar problem but just worked around it by moving Apache from port 80 to a different port .. dunno if ST was blocking the port though as grc.com showed it open.

JNIEMAND: I had to change my username to saboy21 since after the move of the forum my old one doesn't work anyomore...

Sentech got back to me after a moan-mail.

Sentech technicians said that they have escalated the problem and know nothing of a block to port 80.

Or that's what their technician says.

I will keep you guys updated.

saboy21,

I just visited your website mentioned in your first page without any problems.
I am currently at work in Angola (and defnitely not on the ST network), and i connect through our Proxy E-Hub in Scotland.
