SEO: getting my business on Google Maps?

Good day

I am aware that I can add my business to Google Maps using www.google.com/business or business.google.com, but the problem is that my business doesn't show up in the location search (not that I would expect it to, since I haven't added its location to anything yet).

How can I add my business address to Google Maps' databases and have it show up under Google Business? I've tried using google MapMaker, but it apparently doesn't work in South Africa.

I'm pretty sure I'm missing some huge hint right under my nose.

You add the address you want to display

Add it as a business, Google will then run an automated call to confirm and give you a code to verify. Once it's verified, then it will start indexing. It's not immediate.

Not sure what you mean by map, but you specify an address for your business?

Thank you for the support. The issue was that the search wasn't coming up with the "I've correctly entered the name and address" option. After clearing my cache, it has appeared.
