Hi,

I am in need of taking an in depth seo course and I think the course that UCT offers wil be the best...anybody did the course through UCT?
 
Which department at UCT is offering this course?

Strongly recommended, although I'm biased ;-)

Should mention that the course is focused more on Internet Marketing (and Search Engine Marketing) as opposed to the raw techie skills.

Offered through the School of Management Studies, Faculty of Commerce - facilitated through GetSmarter.
 
yes that is fine....i just need to understand the various concepts of seo and OnpageSEO and internet marketing etc............After this uct course can i apply my knowledge to my exisiting websites to generate traffic and then in turn make an income out of internet marketing techniques applied to my sites?
 
which course would teach me enough skills to do seo on my own sites and understand internet marketing as a whole?
 
Why would you need an official course? Surely there is tons of information on the internet about the topic already.

I'm siding with this one. I did marketing through UCT (3 years of it) and their technical knowledge was somewhat lacking. Great for an overview (hey... this is eMarketing)... bad if you want to come out and actually do it yourself.

If you are a complete newbie and have no idea what's what... then perhaps a good idea. If you have some smarts already, i'd do my research online, or go with a more technical course. I have quite a bit of respect for quirk (they presented to us when I did marketing at UCT), but I don't know to what level they teach SEO, and I last looked at them a few years back.

There are some SEO courses at the university of Stellenbosch if i'm not mistaken that may be of more value. I can't remember the links.

Looking at the course outline you linked to... I get the feeling you are going to come out of there going... "duh... that was basic... what a waste of cash". You could just as easily spend that cash on testing which on line advertising, adwords etc would work for you.
 
ok i hear you...i have sent email to quirk and am awaiting their reply...thanks...any of u guys monetizing your sites already...making $$ out of traffic?
