Separate accounts on a single adsl line

I have a 10mb premium uncapped mweb account and i have noticed some excessive lag when other people are online. For example the ping will spike up to 200-300 randomly when one person is streaming.

Today i decided to test separate accounts via a pppoe connection on my pc while the main mweb account was still connected on the router. I went into a csgo server and my brother connected to the same server on our main account and i noticed that when his ping spiked to 200+, mine was sitting at 30 and sometimes when his spiked, mine did as well but not nearly as bad. Accounts i tested with on my pc were: my friend's 2mb mweb account and a web africa trial account.

Is this a normal occurrence when running separate accounts on a single adsl line?

MWEB is your problem. Do yourself a favor and get a different ISP. MWEB has lost the plot completely

It is definitely an issue with the account. If they do not manage to fix it i'm going to switch to another ISP, such a lus to wait a whole extra month before its cancelled though.

Another issue i have atm with the account is that from last friday my upload speed is halved but if i connect with any other account its fine.

You put the router in half bridge mode if it is supported. The setting will vary on different routers but on my Dlink 2750u you enable PPPOE passthrough. It allows you to dial out pppoe connections from other devices in addition to your main connection e.g. from your pc or from another router that has a wan port.
