I called because they said my account is overdue (for the record, it's up to date).

So after the call, I got this message

So I need to pay VAS rates to tell you you're schit?

I'm on my phone and not home so apologies if the screenshot is oversized!

So you spend R760 odd a month on the service, but complain about a Rand or two on a text?

For 760 odd a month, dstv should chuck in the feedback free of charge.

But if you can complain about a a Rand or two, you should complain about spending the hundreds on the service?

This is Multichoice after all, since when did they do anything 'for free'?

Not at all. If you pay R10k per month, you can still complain about a rand or two. It is the principle.

What's the cricket bat app running top left?

Never heard of a "VAS" rate

:erm: Where have you been the last 20 years or so?

Any "value added service" charges the client over and above standard network rates.

Think WASP subscription services that cost you R7.50 a week for ringtones etc....

I know what VAS means, it makes little sense how they use it in that msg

It's Google Now. You tell it which sports teams you are interested and it gives you the start time of the game and the score.

The cricket bat will be there while the match is on.The logo it uses depends on the sport in question.
