Server Mice

Ok Well very old server that was in storage till I decided to use it again.

We had a veldt flattened out next to us recently and this caused an infestation for a few weeks in our factory.

The server had one of the slot covers not put in the back and was in a dark cupboard, perfect if you are a small rodent looking for a safe place to stay...

Thought I'd try clean it as much as is possible and try boot it up.

No go I'm afraid.

Motherboard or PSU is dead (gets power for about 1 second with fans and led's coming on then dies).

Oh well, Possibly I'll turn it into a mouse cage or something.

Soak all the circuit boards in isopropyl alcohol and scrub lightly with a brush, leave to dry and try again.

Some of that mouse crap might have shorted something, you never know.

I sprayed the lot with contact cleaner and brushed off as much as I could but will try this as well.

Well I got it to actually stay on today. No screen though (tried on board and pci express).
Reset the BIOS and tried all the bios utils/jumpers to no effect.

A project for another day.

Did you at least give it a name? Something like Gerald?
