so i got a new contract with MTN coming from vodacom... question

With vodacom u could dial *111# and get a menu to check on free min and stuff does MTN have a similar thing? and what are other useful numbers i should know? like whats their emergency number?

As far as i know if u want to check your free minutes on MTN u have to dial 258, which u get charged for.

Yip, you pay for 258. Dial 16202 from your cellphone (tollfree) and setup a password. You can get your minutes and sms updates from there.

phone setup
mms cameras
streaming cameras
greeting cards
ringtones
some other stuff

also check with your service provider if theres a number you can sms to get a balance. for instance with autopage you sms the word "Balance" to 0828981100 regardless of which cell network you're using
