Assuming that all the info regarding the changes coming in november are true (ITWeek printed an article saying the same things that have been said here, so the rumours seem credible).......
1. Does the twice-a-day session reset mean that I'm twice as likely to have a download cut off mid-way?
2. Is there any other way that Telkom could measure the bandwidth without cutting off the session?
3. If the ISP does authentication and becomes responsible for all the bandwidth consumed by their users, how will they manage users that exceed their bandwidth allocation, intentionally or not? We all know about the last-day-of-the-month session that can be used to pull tons of data down
I think Telkom is just passing on their bandwidth management problems to the ISPs, and will make them liable for all the bandwidth that their users consume even if the ISP can't get sight of the usage in realtime!!
