Good day fellow DSTV subscribers. I have a strange situation and wish to confirm if I am in this.
I have a 4 tuner hdpvr connected via xtraview to a 2 channel pvr. The split takes place via 2 X 1to2 ellies splitters on the twin lnb lines coming from the dish and then 1 of each of the split lines into the 4x multiplexer for the 4 tuner. The other 2 lines feed the 2 tuner.
All works well most of the time until dstv decides to add mnet to my family package menu mostly on weekends. when they remove this option, I get a message saying the set top box cannot connect to the dish and that I need to check my installation.
When this happened the first time I phoned dstv who tried all kinds of things and eventually suggested I change the polarity of the incoming lnb wires. This works until the next time round. I also have to do this on the 2 tuner pvr which then fixes the same message on it.
Is anyone else having this? I have considered getting a 6X multiplexer but do not know if this will solve the issue I have.
I would appreciate any feedback on this.
