The device offers the capability to access potentially illegal content, just as a car offers the capability to travel at illegal speeds to kill someone. If you have the money to challenge them it will be dismissed with costs - you cannot be held liable for potential illegal activities your customer might engage with after purchase.
However, to resell ANY communications equipment in SA to the public, the device must be approved by ICASA, a long and expensive process, costing about R60k for the tests and stuff
This may me an issue, if ISACA chooses to prosecute.

If they advertised it in a way to circumvent region specific blah blah blah then they might not be clean as a whistle either mate.

In the absence of details from either party it is difficult to ascertain what the grounds are for this debacle. In any case it would be a landmark ruling if it goes the distance with plenty publicity that will make it look like the big guy trying to screw over the little one.

AVSupply chose to cut it's losses before it became interesting.

The State- just 7 or so sold , none active as predom sold to expats , MC entrapped they were largest and only subscriber and for a year, why.no cease and desist.order!
