Setting up a Telkom 5102G as a "dumb" modem

As far as I could discover the 5102G only allows for 2 VPN tunnels and I needed something smarter.

The Linksys RV082 does everything that I need (100 VPN tunnels/2nd adsl line/etc.) but I need to configure the 5102G so that none of the router capabilities are active and it purely becomes a "dumb" modem - like my old alcatel.

Has anyone done this before or will plain VPN pass through work? (If pass through will work can someone please explain how to do this - words of three letters or less:D please)

It sounds like you want to set it up in bridge mode. I don't have the router so I don't know how to do that. I am guessing though it will be in the section that deals with setting up connections.

Confirmed to work...
Set router into bridged pppoe llc.
Works fine with the latest telkoms, you can pop a vpn server or client behind it and dial up and do tunnels etc etc.
Last time I saw this work was around 2 weeks ago :)

Thx

Thanks for the pointers - I'll try the advice and give some feedback when I have it up and running.

AFAIK it is quite easy:

You (to router): "You are a Telkom router!"
Router acts dumb all by itself

:p :D
