Setting up Airport Wireless on ADSL router

Not sure if anyone can help me - the Apple Support centre will only open on the 2nd.

I have an ADSL5102G router with one PC connected to it, one laptop connected through wireless connection and now want to set up my Apple to connect through the Airport wireless network.
It requires a network password, which I gather is the pre-shared key on the router, but it doesn't accept it. Telkom cannot help me.

When I set up the laptop, the printed key at the bottom of the router was incorrect, had to pick it up from my Interface Setup on the 10.0.0.2 site.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Three things you might try.

Replace the router, its a POS.

Sometimes a "$" preceeding the password key helps.

There is a wireless setting in the router that needs to be set to "both" not "open" or "shared" that allows the airport to connect. Had the same problem as you at a friends house and changing that setting worked. I have no idea why it works.

It was something stupid - had to disable the authentication on the wlan-ap in the router settings.
