Hi,
I recently had my fibre installed and so I wanted to setup my Asus DSL-N66U as a repeater, can anyone please assist. I have tried various scenarios and with no luck, I reset my Router and then setup and at the DSL Line Configuration according to many youtube videos at this point i should choose manual setup but there is no manual setup option, so I kinda skipped that and setup wifi connections, it seems that there is no option to setup this router into repeater mode so I tried the next best thing which is under the Advanced setting->Wireless->WDS there is an option to do wireless bridging, I added the primary router MAC address in the Remote AP list but even then i am still not able to get it working so I need help

I cant seem to find the DSL version setup so I fount the RT verion https://setuprouter.com/router/asus/rt-n66u/wireless-bridge-23169-large.htm

If there is a way around to setup this router (DSL-N66U) as a repeater then please do guide me

Guys, after a many nany attempts I was finally able to simulate a repeater, I say simulate because according to Asus these modem routers has no repeater or access point function, however i would like to share my setup so that if anyone out there has the same issue they can follow the same, its rather simple actually.

So as I indicated previously that I setup the wifi and the wireless bridge function but this was the wrong steps, so after thinking about what I actually want to accomplish i then ran a network cable from my primary router to the ethernet wan and ran another network cable from pc to my asus n66u port 1, then I went to advanced settings->WAN->Internet Connection and I added a bridge and then saved the data, I then went back in and then i amended the transfer mode, service unit and then enabled it as seen in the attachment

You should now see the pc connection at the top right (as seen in the attached), however at this point I was still not able to ping Google in cmd which ment I did not have a internet connection, so I went and deactivated the wireless bridge function and it worked! Run the ping again and i was happy. Now that its setup any family and friends which comes over i will set them up on my asus wifi and with that I will have more control over it

Hope this guide helps

A name I've not heard in a while - Asus

How's the Wifi range on these models?

Actually I found it to be very good, the range was also much strong for further then my previous router which was a net netgear, which is one of the mean reasons I wanted to set it up as a repeater.

What router are you using?
