Setting up DC++ in SA

Hi Guys,

I am an MWeb subscriber and when my cap runs out I have a 10GB local only cap and was wondering if anyone could help me with instructions on setting up DC++ as I believe there is a huge community of people in SA using it and thus there is lots being shared? Can anyone confirm this? And what 'hub' could I use (do I have to register and how would I do this)?

I tried DC++ a while ago and got bored very quickly.
rather google news servers and figure it out. more reliable and u get excellent speeds depending on whether it is cached or not. But that is another story.

Ja, there were some guys a while ago who used to run a server... see here...

click on the "www" to download the client.

read all the instructions..

and open up the program and it will take you to the site.

Sometimes the server goes down...

if you cannot connect to the hub... try later tonight... after supper.

But that info may be seriously out of date.

The above poster is right though... DC++ servers are a waste of time.

Rather go for News Servers or local torrents.

Thanks guys. Ive heard a bit about news servers and they sound like a great idea Ive got a client now, unison (cause im on a mac), and what info would I need to enter if i wanted to use the mweb news server? Where could I search stuff? Im very new to this and all the guides apply to the states rather than SA unfortunately and I want to set it up so that I can use it when my cap runs out?

BTW, where could I search for local torrents (I know how to use torrents so wouldnt waste your time by asking you all to explain them too )
