Hi there

I administrate four iBurst accounts for two toll plazas, but these accounts does not have email enabled.

If I log in to check those account's emails on the iburst web page, I get a message saying incorrect user name or password - although I entered it correctly.

So I am correct in assuming that email accounts for these four accounts need to be set up?

All I want to do is to enable daily bandwidth usage reportings for those accounts - to keep tabs on when bandwidth was used and to prevent getting capped.

Regards

iBurst is not the ISP e.g. [email protected], phone the helpdesk and ask who the ISP is...

then go here https://helpdesk.wbs.co.za/webpopup/usage.html or here https://selfcare.wbs.co.za/index.vps?

You don't even need to have the email accounts active for that. Just go to the bandwidth monitor and tick the box to request bandwidth reports. They will then be delivered to the email account that you used when you signed up - the same one where all the invoices and advertising bumph gets sent.

Good luck.
I've been trying to setup my email address and change my bandwidth delivery address since 21 December. Today i managed to get into my email address, but still no sign of how to change my bandwidth monitor email address.
Now, with this proxy server with ICAP, i am having problems downloading products that i purchased on the web. Why would they go and fiddle with stuff that was working? Woza WiMax!!

Well managed to get all my stuff sorted. This is what i discovered.

1. Your modem has a username and password that is used to connect you to their service; mine was [email protected]
2. You have an address for your mail, mine was [email protected]

......wait for it....
3. You have a THIRD address that is used for getting into your ISP services for things like changing passwords and monitor notifcation messages etc.

Number 2 and 3, for me, had the same password, but that password was the original password that was issued when i first signed up, which was different to the password i use in my modem.

No wonder their helpdesk is so confused. Three different user accounts for one user. It boggles the mind. Talk about getting off to a bad start, this is how the banks operate, they all store core data in different places that have to be kept up to date seperately (well, at least they used to be when i was at the banks). Bad design.

Talk of confusion.

My thinking is WBS first outsourced their service to 3rd party companies as a result each applied their own rules and now they cant get it to intergrade.

Not sure what the situation is, but the outcome is chaos.

They should at least tell their staff what the situation is so that we don't spend weeks chasing down the wrong information; that just makes them look even more confused.
They were emailing me usernames and password that just weren't working because of the three accounts thing.
Also surprising, and a bit worrying, that they keep the password in the clear like that, they should just be able to reset them, not actually mail them out.

It depends how you set up your service. When you set up the connection, you choose a UN & PW. Then you can select an email address which MAY or MAY NOT be the same as your connection UN (depending on what is available and what you elected to have). For this email address, there is a UN & PW and once again you select what this should be.

Much of the time, the setting up of these things is done by agents and this process on the iBurst website is cryptic to say the least. It is VERY easy to get this messed up and end up with 3 different combinations! This is something iBurst could well improve.
