Elo guys.

I have recently purchased a router (Mecer brand, but when I log in it shows Connexant). I used to use a USB Modem and dial up a PPPOE connection. I have 2 ADSL accounts.

Now in the routers settings, I can create 2 seperate accounts. On the home page it shows it's using PPP-0, which is the default connection. When I create another account it, it creates a PPP-1. How do I tell the router which PPP to use?

Just put the router into " bridge mode" and make a PPPoE connection on your computer for both accounts. Then you dial up to whichever account is needed.

Hmm... It was already set in Bridge mode, I tried making dial up accounts but it failed.

Install RASPPPOE and use it to create your connections. Windows' built-in PPPoE connection manager isn't the most reliable.

Hmm, I'm not sure what that second option does "WAN to WAN bridging"?

Anyway, setting up the PPPoE account on your computer should be as follows...

Open up Networking in Control Panel, and choose "Create a New Connection"

Then choose "Connect to the Internet"

Then "Set up my Connection Manually" (In Vista you might have to choose "Create a new connection anyway")

Then choose "Connect using a Broadband connection that requires a UserName and Password"

Then enter the connection details and let it connect.

After connecting set the connection to "Public Profile"

If you have done all of that, but the PPPoE connection does not want to work, then go back to the router and change some that second option to be disabled and try that.

I tried this, didnt work.

Am I supposed to delete the PPP setting for my username and pass?

Here is a screenshot of the "home" tab.

It's showing the router is in bridging and routing mode ?? I'm clueless about routers :(

*edit*

Also for some reason my Axxess 1 gig unshaped account won't connect at all. (it shows in the router that the link is up) But my 626 account is fine ? I dunno wtf is going on.

The router should be in bridge mode... and there should be no settings for username or password entered into the router AT ALL. Those usernames and settings are ONLY created on the computers in the PPPoE settings.

I'm gonna ask the mods to move this thread back to the ADSL section. I think we might get more help there.

Unfortunately I don't know that router at all... it looks completely different to any router I have ever worked on. But maybe somebody will know it.
