setting up Tp Link accees point

Howzit need some assistance
have a Huawei B618s-22d router have LAN cable from router to another room in my house with a desktop connected working 100%
Now i am trying to setup a TP Link N300 2x2 MIMO TL WA855RE range extender as access point need other devices to connect through WI-FI
Succeeded in changing the mode to access point but not getting internet access from the B618 router towards the tp link when plugging lan cable from B618

Any advice ?

Are you using a LAN port on the Huawei connecting to a LAN port on the TP link?

Rule of thumb is LAN to LAN but some manufacturers need LAN to WAN.

You disabled DHCP on the TP link and gave the TP link a static address with the gateway IP of the Huawei?
 
I even contacted TP LINK Support they said the will come back to me till now no response .....
 
Sorted on the B618 need to use the lan/wan port and setup as per member Rickster
all good thanks ! Tp Link Support ..........:thumbsdown:
