hi

i am new to asterisk/trixbox.
i have 4 isdn line installed with 70 DID allocated to them.

my problem is that i can only call the 4 main numbers of the isdn lines.
i have checked with telkom that the DID are active.
i have setup the DID in trixbox via inbound routes.
is there any thing more that needs to be done?

1. Make sure you have "immediate=no" in your misdn.conf file!

2. Perhaps log into the command line, run "asterisk -r" and watch the debugging info as you receive a call.

3. Keep in mind that Telkom will only send the last four digits as the DID. Eg. If you phone number range is 011 555 1000 to 011 555 1069, then your DIDs in Trixbox should be 1000 through 1069 (without the 011555 part).

I hope this helps!

hi

i made the changes in misdn.conf but still not working.
when i call a number in the ddi range all i get is a engaged tone nothing comes up on the cli.

i am using duxbury isdn cards, does it support ddi?

Yes, I have a site with 20 DDIs off a single BRI connected to a Duxbury ISDN.

It sounds remarkably like something Telkom-related, despite their suggestion to the contrary. If your config was wrong, you should still receive the calls on all numbers, just that your system would think that in all cases the default number was dialled.

If you have ISDN2a, here is what I suggest:
1. Disconnect the PBX
2. Plug in phones to the analogue ports
3. Dial the DDI numbers and see if the phones ring

If you have pure ISDN2, then log into asterisk CLI ("asterisk -r"):
type: misdn set debug 9

Dial the DDIs.

If you see pages of signalling (e.g. "P[ 1] handle_frm: frm->addr:42000103 frm->prim:3f082") then the call is coming through and you have config problem.

If you do not get any signalling, then it is definitely a Telkom problem.
