Couldn't one do a similar firewall with one of these?
I will say now that I do not know how fast an ARM 1.2GHz is compared to other architectures.
But how different is it to having a <insert old computer here> running linux with something like smoothwall?
EDIT: I see the price starts at $149 without there being any mention of what you are getting into.
Personally I avoid these types of sales pitches..
The new ARM architectures are pretty fast. The upshot is one of these boards only uses about 3-5W which you are not going to achieve with a old pc or even a atom based board.
All the specs and details are on the site, just try and read. These are developer boards and targeted at the hacker types out there. They are not trying to rip anyone off so there is no "sales pitch".
Guys, why argue about this? It's a really cool little machine. It has USB x 4, a hard drive and more processing power than any router that I know of - it runs XP and even Office fine.
Bit confused, what are you referring to?
Anyone here actually do some ARM development work and can recommend a nice easy board to start with?
