Shaik appeal rejected

I reckon Shaik is gonna do a 'plea bargain' with the state, then implicate JZ...
JZee is his buddy (and his get out of jail free card) so that is unlikely to happen.

I notice they do not 'try' their own: travelgate, the thousands of officials that have been slapped on the wrist for corruption and fraud.

I doubt that?
Plea Bargains are done before sentencing or Trial.
Like an Admission of Guilt, so to speak.

The Supreme Court of Appeal has already stated that the first judgement was spot on.
This in essence was The Plea that was heard already.
Perhaps Shaik's Attorneys told him stories in order to prolong the inevitable or Shaik and Co thought they had a chance and petitioned the Attorneys to take it further. Either way they lost.
15 years may turn out to be 8 or 10? I doubt he will be out before 5?

Eastern Cape health chief under fire to quit Nov 01 06
The watchdog Public Service Accountability Monitor (PSAM) has called on the head of the Eastern Cape health department to quit after what it says is the department's ninth audit disclaimer in 10 years.
-
The audit disclaimer for 2005/06 meant the department was unable to account for its R6,13-billion budget for that year.
-
"It should be noted that this is the department's ninth disclaimer in the past 10 years," she said.

(that's what I mean - and there are THOUSANDS of others.)

Gosh! and this is just one province, mind boggles. But, it looks like a legacy issue as current chief was appointed just 2 years ago.

"DA provincial leader Athol Trollip agreed that Boya, as the department’s accounting officer, had to bear the ultimate responsibility for the shambles but said the real blame belonged to Goqwana, fired this year by Premier Nosimo Balindlela"
