Anyone ever been to this store? It is in Randpark Ridge.

Just want to know if it is worth the effort of going all the way there.

but from google i think its some clothing place

then i would think its a waste of time since they import from india and add 500% to the price and sell it here

Likely to have the freshest Indian styles. Fordsburg styles are usually 2-3 years behind what happening in India.

Not at all....there is people that go few times a year and go shop and bring them down to sell

my one aunt sells muslim woman clothing that her hubby goes to egypt and stuff and sends it down

Even though the Fordsburg clothes may be newly acquired from India/elsewhere, they are not necessarily modern or trendy or "Westernised", which is what a lot of people are after.

not entirely... the difference is the quality ...south african indians and india people themselves have become modernised so the latest stuff comes here as well

just like our name brand stores where they would go around the world steal designs and trends and ask the chinese man to make it

you can get the same design made for cheap using krap or like this new desi palce would have the quality but at a much much much higher price than the one in india with same quality

I am indeed looking for clothes ... but not the traditional saris, etc, rather a modern type of kurta one can wear as a top with jeans. Also looking for Indian influenced jewelery and handbags.

go to a tailor ...and go to forsburg lol seriously theres everything you want there

they have lots and lots of shops that you can get modern designs from and good prices

you need to have an idea what you want then its bargaining power

I'm no indian fashion expert but from what I saw they have a combination between the two old and new, they also have tons of jewelry They are in Honey Crest Shopping centre so if you can find the centres number then I am sure you can get Shakti's number from them
