Ok so I'm now lvl 18 and did a few instances Yesterday.

I have to admit it's a rather wierd play style but I love it. I did RFC, was doing massive DPS and even healing if the Healer went oom. I still cam ein first on the Damage Meter :D

In SFK they wanted me to be main healer  I said ok. and to be honest it wetn fairly well. Just that my heals takes ages to cast and I have no HOTS  Buut I got it done. O and my Mana aint very efficient when healing.

I have 13% crit on lvl 18 and hit like a train :p

Still loving this Shaman to bits.

Side note: The total download from TBC up to date was just over 1.1GB Make back up discs of your patches today ;)

Once you get to around level 40-ish and get dual-wielding and Stornmstrike, is when the glory days of your shaman will begin.
I was *always* #1 dps in instances and would even mainheal if needed. All the way up to the late 50's.

Then i stepped into Outland at 58 and it all went pear shaped.

Not saying that shamans aint fun, still love playing mine. Just prepping you for coming down from a massive high of being OP. Enjoy the low levels while they last. I'd strongly suggest doing some 40-49 and 50-59 BG's for eg before you begin the 60-70 grind.

I found the shaman style odd as well. I usually play warrior. I started a Drenai shaman, and didnt enjoy it all. But I think thats becuase it just doesnt fit in the alliance for me. Those totems look.....strange :)

I think I would rather roll a horde shammy, tbh. May still do that.
