Hello,

A few guys at work (including myself) have been trading on Luno for about 3 months now. We monitor various international exchanges alongside Luno and found that the Luno trading panel (https://www.luno.com/trade/) lacks a hell of a lot of features in comparison to other exchanges. We spent some time waiting for Luno's development team (no disrespect to Luno) to improve the panel and put it on par with other exchanges.

I am currently working on a chrome extension (browser addon) for Luno, now before you question security and back-doors, read below.

Luno UX Addon

The Luno UX Addon is a very simple chrome extension that offers a greater user experience with on-going development. You are able to read more about the feature(s) on the actual chrome extension page.

Currently we have started with one very handy feature, "Post only", which (when selected) will not let you place an order where fees apply.

Is it safe?

The short answer, no, chrome extensions are not safe and could easily be used to track personal information and perhaps even log keystrokes and so on.

With that being said, this extension is safe. All we're doing is injecting scripts in to the page that use the already-existing functionality built in to Luno to offer a greater user-experience.

You are able to download the chrome extension, change it to a zip file and extract it to view the source code to check for any backdoor concerns.

This is an honest project intended to assist fellow traders. Reviews on the extension itself will assist in the drive for this.

Why are you telling us this?

I was hoping that everyone could help in suggesting much-needed features for this project, features that you feel Luno is in dire need of. Should this become a community-type project, I will happily set up a Trello for it.

I promise more features are coming soon, and I also promise that there will be no communication taking place outside of Luno unless it is to an API that pulls in metrics from other exchanges! :)

Thanks guys, happy trading!

Regards,

Matthew Rorke

One thing I always wanted was a widget on android, showing my current wallet contents similar to Coinbase, but translated to rands without having to log in to the app.

But that's maybe just me.

Took a look at the source and can confirm it currently does what it says.

Now if you could get Luno's graphs to update periodically as well, that would be great. (except if I'm an idiot and it already does that somehow.)

It is something I'm looking in to, unfortunately the buttons that allow you to specify the time are just indexes for a fixed array of time spans so I will have to implement my own graph (which will be tabbed in with the existing Luno graph) that will be able to populate that data. I won't be building my own graph, instead I'll try and find a nice library for one. I already came across the TradingView graph but I am not sure that I'll be able to come right with a license for that.

In regard to your periodic updates (for viewing only), take a look a https://cryptowat.ch/luno/btczar

Only saw your reply now, seems my subscriptions settings were off.

Anyway, that seems like a lot of work to fix somebody else's site... Might as well build your own.;)

Thanks for the link. Will give it a try.

Love this. Did something for Luno and other exchanges as well. Congrats, and thanks for giving back to the community. :)
