Shane Warne considers German citizenship

Probably most of you have heard about this already, but let me just add my view.

Warne will never, ever , ever get German citizenship.. ever, for 2 reasons. The first that he is Aussie, and thats reason enough not to. 2nd, is that the Aussie public will litrally kick him him out of the country and never let him back in. Seriously, joe bloggs aussie public will not allow him to do this without a huge backlash. He'll be cursed for the rest of his life.

I think the Aussie media is jumping to conclusions like the SA media does. If he does qualify for a Kolpak contract then the county can keep him and not have to declare him as an overseas player. That does not mean he renouncing his nationality. Now if he was to PLAY for England then the Aussie public could be more than forgiven to kick him out.

I never knew he had German family/connections though.

Germany's laws are perfectly equipped to handle dual citizenship. The laws have also liberalized. Warne would be perfectly eligible for German citizenship, and I am sure there would be a clause in the law that allows him to hold dual citizenship. We Germans have a bad history, but we aren't monsters

If I read the article correctly the problem might be with the Australian laws.
