Shaped or Unshaped

Can somebody tell me what this means.

Shaped means certain internet traffic like peer to peer (Voice Over IP,Bit Torrents etc) are limited in the amount of bandwidth they can use

Unshaped no such restrictions

(Shaped has been invented by TELKOM to piss us off)

My understanding of it is that shaped is when various protocols (such as http and ftp traffic) are given network wide priority over others (such as torrent or voip traffic).

EDIT - I always suggest trying shaped first and see if you can manage with it as the prices are much lower.
