I am sooooo sick and tired of get $h1tty speeds during the day. Shaping is terrible not just on p2p, but everything seems to be getting gradually worse. It seems that each day it just gets worse and worse.

I used to download from newshost and get 20 - 25 KB/s and now I get between 8 and maybe 15 if I am lucky and if I download stuff from Microsoft, I do not get the speeds that I used to.

I think it is discusting that Telkom can get away with charging for something that is up to.... example telkom adsl up to 4096, and yet everyone gets different speeds because of it.

Explain this, I know someone in Gauteng who is about 5km from the exchange and he gets speeds of 500KB/s after hours and speeds during the day, well, they just suck. He is on Telkom, yet another friend of mine who is 50M, if that from the exchange only gets 400 at most, yet telkom say its how far you are from the exchange. I however, get only 320 and I am also about 5km from the exchange. hmmmmmmm

It f@#!ing $h1t when because you are the monopoly, you screw people over and refused to give them and kind of service that they deserve. I also think it is a joke that they still charge for local traffice, when will it end ????

uhmmm... maybe you should rather download cached stuff from the newshost?

Hmmmm

So, how exactly do you think it becomes cached hmmmm, by itself  maybe you should ask and find out what the word cached means and how it becomes that way, its not magic dude!!! Besides that is *** reasoning, and in my opinion unacceptable that Telscum and the ISP's can get away with it. The fact that I used to get "20 - 25 KB/s and now I get between 8 and maybe 15" says only one thing, we are nothing to them and I am only one voice if I stand by myself, we need to try stand together.

500KBps * 8 = 4Mbps

@ 5km from the exchange?
He's line distance has to be less than that to get 4Mbps.

Weird, but hey... Telkom :(

I agree, I just wish Telkoms would give us a better service, it is soooo cr@ppy when people make excuses for them, but then again, what are we to do :-(

As for the 5km thing, its not exactly 5 km, but its def not 50M, for me probably around 2. Km and the guy in JHB around 2.5, its still does not make any sense:mad:

LOL
