Hey my first post.

So basically I have a Iburst USB modem connected to PC which I shared and using a crossover cable to connect my ps3, and it works I can connect to PSN and go onto the internet with my ps3.
I bought GTA 5 online for my ps3, I can access the online the game with no problem, I run around a bit, and suddenly get disconnected from the game after 20min and then again with sorter time period. So I tried with my 3G dongle and shared it with pc and connect to ps3, went on the game and it worked perfectly didn't get disconnected at all and played it for almost more than 4 hours on 3G dongle with no disconnects.
So I want to know since GTA 5 online is P2P servers, does iburst struggle with P2P servers? Or am I doing something wrong? I never had a problem with Iburst on my pc, I play games like World Of Warcraft and Battlefield 3 with no problems at all.
Is there a solution for this, is there a setting which I can change on my ps3 or pc to make this playable?

Regards.
Henri

iBurst does shape P2P traffic during peak hours. To check if this is the problem try playing after midnight. If that solves the problem then you can log a fault with iBurst and hopefully they can identify GTA 5 traffic and not shape it.

Have you installed the GTA 5 updates though? It sounds like there have been problems with the online mode since it was launched, see:

Hey, yes I know about the problems having on GTA 5 online, but with my 3G dongle I can connect no problems at any time of the day. I'll try midnight to see if I still disconnect. How can I inform Iburst about this problem?

Just post the details in this thread and send a PM to user iBurst.

Iburst haven't contact me with this. So don't think there a solution for this except if you play from 00:00-6:00 am, then you won't be disconnected at all.

Hi everybody

In my excitement I sent the following to the OP and user iBurst. I now having permission to post:

Hi there

I saw your username quoted in this thread: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthre...-DC-s-in-games

I hope you don't mind me messaging you.

I am having the same above problem.

I am currently connected to XBL vita internet connection sharing, always have been, and I have OPEN NAT and have no issues with any other games. Yet with GTA I am always disconnected. I have spent hours trying to make a plan for just this game, adding a router to the mix, reconfiguring IP, DNS etc but no luck. So the theory that iBurst shape P2P during peak times sounds very likely.

I have had some success. I can play solo no problem and missions usually seem fine, but freeroam with multiple people hardly ever works, and the more I think about it, it does seem to ring a bell that it works after hours when it does work. I have some success playing with friends in an invite only session.

Is there anything that possibly be done about this? As I said I have no problems with other games (including Red Dead Redemption), so I really am glad to have not gone out and bought any hardware, especially if it isn't on my side but with iBurst.

Is there anything I could do? Anything I could get onto iBurst about that could solve this somehow?

Kind regards,

I've got the same issue with Iburst and GTA Online on my PS3. I've setup wireshark to check the packets being sent/receive on my PS3 and sent iburst the logs. They've escalated it to their development team (according to the helpdesk). Will post an update the moment I hear anything form them.

It's shaping. I can confirm that it will work after midnight, but please let me know if they let you know that they plan on doing anything to change this.

Just got a call from iburst. They changed the settings and connection should be possible. I'm still in the office, but will test tonight.

Hey, just got the same message from them. Testing after work as well.

If it works I really wish I had spoken to iBurst sooner...
