pleeeeze help, i have 2 machines on a network at home. I want to share my mobile phone modem to the 2 machines via lan. Any ideas?

Can anyone explain step by step how one could go about doing this, and can admin then move it to faq section?

Go to your connections tab on Windows.

Right click on the 1 you're using to connect with that modem.
Select Properties, select advance, tick internet connection sharing ;)

And also remember the computer with the modem must have its IP set to 192.168.0.1 and then in the other computer's network settings set the gateway to 192.168.0.1

Also a quicker and easier way is to download CCProxy: www.youngzsoft.net/ccproxy/proxy-server-download.htm

It comes with a user manual AFAIK plus its really user friendly

Unlike ICS, you dont need to make sure that your IP is 192.168.0.1, you can log what the other person is surfing and how much data they have downloaded and the BEST part is you can limit their traffic :D

I used it but no longer since the other pc's have moved out.
