Sharing images between Samsung devices

Am I an idiot or is there no built in way to easily send images from one Samsung device to another other than Bluetooth or attaching it to a message of sorts.

Spent 15 minutes now with my wife to try figure out Quick Sharing and Send to Device, but Samsung's site gives no help.
I have a Note 9, wife has a Note 10.

Apple's airdrop is simple to use, and Samsung has no answer for it.
If you turn on WiFi on both phones and use the default file manager or gallery app, share via bluetooth. An option menu will pop up and ask if it can go over wifi. Click yes.

300+ mbps. It's how I move my 50mbps videos from device to device (Note 10 to S9)

I have used WiFi Direct to share books between Samsung phones without issues.

How is transferring files via the internet a win if you just want to move a file from one device to another?
Phones not on the same network. Maybe in different locations.
Phones on same network using wifi.
Phones not available at the same time to transfer. i.e. I send you an image at 10am. You collect it at 2pm

I didn't get a hint that the OP wanted to do any of those as he lamented the absence of AirDrop.

Yeah, my problem was around two people standing next to each other and just being able to share a photo/video with each other without needing to use 3rd party applications.

I read it as "not bluetooth", but can be "attached to a message"

Was it not Sansung that came out with the whole nfc quick share when you pressed the back of 2 phones together you could send over?

I vaguely remember an advert for being able to press the back of 2 Samsungs together to transfer files, etc.

So i checked it out on my S9 last night its still there and its called Android Beam, if you drop down your quick menu thingy with all the icons and hold down on NFC the option to turn on Android Beam comes up. Used to work pretty well iirc

they all work well but its like not the most efficient way of transferring between 2 phones especially if different makes / models.
the Point of Nearby share is the 2 phones in effect talk and decide what would be the best and fastest way to share data

If both devices are on the same wifi network, KDEConnect works well.
