Im looking for a program that i can use to share my internet connection over my network at home and be able to cap the users.
Virtual Proxy - something that will still allow the other users to play games like WOW over the internet

Any suggestions?

Hey Will C

Depending on whether you're up to it, u can use ipcop (www.ipcop.org). This is basically a small linux distro that u can install on an unused pc (really low spec even works). It provides a firewall, proxy and web caching services. :)

Basically, it consists of the machine with 2 or more nics and ipcop. Hook up the adsl to the machine and then the machine to your network.

Then you can use IPcop addons (I'm not sure where from - I saw the site on another post - will look for it) that allow you to cap different users on your network :D

Will C - welcome to MyADSL

yeah IPcop is easy to setup even if you know nothing about linux like me.

then go to http://firewalladdons.sourceforge.net/ - download the addon server and install it. it takes a bit of "skill" but the distructions are very good and easy to follow.
http://firewalladdons.sourceforge.net/trafcontrol.html - is i think the one you looking for. i tried it and it seemed to be ok. not running it at the moment.
Other fun things for IPop is copfilter (AntiSpam and Virus) and ntop takes up more resources but working for me at the moment.

hope that is what you looking for.
