Pease help me I have 5 laptops that need to use the internet but I havent figured out how to set up a wireless network or any network for that matter.

I'm using a Billion wireless 3G router (BiPAC 7402GX) it fails on the ppp conection test.

I need help with this rather urgently or I'm going to have to admit I'm not as smart as I thought:confused:

If you are a Neotel internet user the only way to enable your internet connection with all 5 laptops is using ICS through your 3G router using Network cable.
You would need to decide which laptop/computer to host the internet connection first of all, so I would follow more or less these steps:

1. Network Connections > Network Setup on Host Computer (set as host in Network setup)
1.1 Change Host Lan IP: 192.168.0.1 - Subnet: 255.255.255.0 - Gateway leave blank - Primary DNS: 208.67.222.222 - Alternative DNS: 208.67.220.220

2. Login to your Router, not sure what your default router IP is but will probably be: 192.168.1.254
2.1 Change Router IP: 192.168.0.254

3. Network Connections > Network Setup on the rest of your Laptops/Computers (set as "uses host as internet gateway or another computer as gateway")
3.1 Do the same as in steps 1.1 for the rest of your laptops you wish to network and connect except change their IP's in ascending order as follow: 192.168.0.2 ; 192.168.0.3 ; 192.168.0.4
3.2 Everything exactly the same settings as in 1.1 except, fill in Gateway:192.168.0.1

For Setting up Your Wireless network it's alittle bit of a different story and hopefully someone with experience in setting up Wireless Networks can help.

What settings are using to try and connect? You need to check your dialout number is #777. Also check if you can dialout with a USB 3G modem. I cannot find info on the net to confirm or deny that this will work.

Thanks for your help, I will give it a shot a bit later.

I have the neotel prime unlimited package but till now I've been the only one using it, the rest of the family was beginning to lose their patience with me

Has anybody got the specs for this phone that you get with the Neotell Contract? Things like Lan ports? Wireless Capibilities...WDS..?

No ethernet, no wireless, only a single USB port. As for no WDS, see "no wireless".

The handset of the phone itself isn't even cordless. The handset is connected to the unit via a cord, the entire unit is can be picked up and moved, but the handset itself is not cordless. Do yourself a favour and do a google image search for the thing, I was shocked.

This does not sound good…..So how do you hook this thing up to a Router…? Maybe a USB to Ethernet converter?

The Neo-Connect device is connected to your PC via USB and from there your computer is connected through your router (I just use my previous Mweb Adsl Billion Router)

You need to share the internet connection through the PC that the Neotel device is plugged into. Basically the PC connected to the Neotel device (via USB) becomes a router. I imagine it is a little annoying, supposedly a Neotel device with ethernet is due to be released imminently (they say 20th November, however this is just a rumour so keep your pinch of salt handy).

If I were you I would wait it out for ethernet (hopefully it will even have wireless capabilities, but even ethernet alone is fine as I would just connect my current wireless router to it). Neotel is also introducing revA which should be a lot faster than the current rev0 system.

You can't use a USB to ethernet converter (if such a thing even exists) as the USB device needs a driver, while an ethernet device doesn't.
