Losing to a spirited side is not choking, they played like champions the Cheetahs did so there is no shame to losing to them ........ by your reasoning every time a team loses, they're chokers? Pretty stupid if you ask me or any other intelligent person ;)

IMO the sharks played poorly... I can see how they can be seen as chokers so soon after kicking themselves out of the S14 semis and now losing to the cheetahs (who did play very well to come back after the trailed by 15 points!) after dominating the whole CC.

I think the bulls nearly suffered the same mercyless rath of over confidence.... Olivier stating that the bulls could only lose to themselves deserves a crowbar over the head.

bwahahahahhahahahahahahahahaha

cheetahs 23

chokers 21

 @ za1

Think maybe you might have had a more intellectual first post to your thread?

I don't think they choked.
Well done and thanks to the Sharks for a great game.
Now to get out my orange coat for Loftus.... :)

+1 ... I think it is about the way Cheetahs forced their way through the latter half of the season to get into the final. Most had written them off half way through the CC. So kudos to the Cheetahs for their tremendous tenacity! Now go all the way, lads! :)

Tough luck to the Sharks. Beaten by a tenacious opponent! :(

Whahahahaha 13 boks in the team :D

It was a tight game as was the case with the WP and the Bulls.

Great rugby weekend.

 @ Devill ... you'd better hope your team doesn't get a thrashing on Saturday

You think someone who takes the effort to start a thread would actually be more original and not resort to the overused term of "choker" in an attempt to insult someone...

Seriously, guys, if you claim that every sports team that loses is "choking" then you honestly know very little about sport.

It's overused. Misused. Overrated. Boring. Demeaning to the person relying on something so last year!

Damn is every lost game due to choking these days? Do the teams that win not play well?

Agree with you. Can a side not get credited for playing out of their socks and being the better team on the day?

+1 ... dredging the bucket a bit here. Sharks lost to the better side on the day, to the side more desperate, to the side who were forced to improvise and had nothing to lose, and everything to gain.

Cheetahs won! And they could just go all the way! And I'll be hoping they do! :D

They both had the same amount to lose. BOTH teams knew that if you lose your out.

The sharks also kicked themselves out of the Semis in the S14...

Although i do not agree that the sharks are chokers, I understand and respect other's views why they are ;)

Ps I like your sig :D

Yes, perhaps they both had the same amount to lose. But the Sharks were expecting to win and nothing less. Complacency maybe?

I still believe the Cheetahs had more to gain and were passionate about the way they approaches the game!

I hope it's another cracker this weekend!

Are you admitting the sharks were a bit arrogant?:p Or even expected to win just by pitching up for the game? :D

I hope it's another cracker this weekend!

Are they not only playing the weekend after next?

erm, no?

OP was the score

of a rugby match

where one team choked

not the discussion of the meaning of life.......???

by your reasoning every time a team loses, they're chokers?

indeed not, that would be daft...

once again, wp played well and lost, they didn't choke

On the other hand Darren, the sharks..............arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, they choked!!

As much as I am no Sharks fan and regard them as the nemesis for my team, I simply must admit that SA Rugby is the winner, no matter what. As for the choking, this is a tough call. It is used all to often to describe the Proteas, the All Blacks in the RWC and the Sharks. When the phrase is overused, it really does become trite. I would not say that they were outplayed. The held on poorly. They simply let it go. In this particular instance, I am going to say that they choked...
