Today when I went to fill up my car at shell the petrol attendant told me about the new Shell V-Power Nitro+ that they will have available from tomorrow.

I was in a rush so I didn't ask for more information.

Does anybody have more info on this and if all cars using unleaded will be able to use it ?

EDIT : Just found some info on the Shell website

There is some info on the shell website about it as you said

But i would be more interested to see what people say about it. does it improve fuel consumption? does it give improved performance? etc.
If someone does fill up with this and report back in this thread can you also please include you car model and engine size.

I might try this out in the scooby and see if the boxer motor likes this "new" petrol.

I'll give it a bash on my next tank, which should be early next week. I drive an 86 so I reckon it's a good test platform. I don't expect much from it though.

All these fancy sounding misleading names. I bet it's not nitro methane enriched.

^^^

Has absolutely no nitro methane in it... but it does apparently "clean" your engine better.

Cool, will try it next week.
Been using engen 95 for past few months, much better than the normal v power.

Meh,just a gimmick I rate,"Oooh it has a plus in the name"

Shell executives: "We need a bit of a marketing push..."
Shell marketing department: "Add more words to the name."

I'll only use it if the octane level goes up to 97.
My fuel consumption with Shell Unleaded 95 is far poorer than with Engen Unleaded 95.

Not gonna happen. Octane rating is regulated. :(

It's quite simple really. Let me explain. If you have a bucket of 97 octane, and another bucket of 95 octane, and you mix the two, you will actually have 192 octanes. Actually! Which means that it will make a Ford Ka drop a Ferrari 458. Easily.

Which is why you should always fill up with buckets instead of dumping it straight into the car.

Blunomore explained this all to me. She sciences very good...
