Hi Guys

My mini pc that I bought from china is giving me problems, it is still under warranty so I need to send it back to china for repairs.

I would like to know what's the best/cheapest courier to use, I don't want to pay alot for shipping so can you advise me on what options I have?

Thanks

I'm assuming the cost to ship it there and back and all the hassle etc. is worth it? I mean we're not talking a cheap device here?

How did you pay for it? Credit card or PayPal?

So I really need to send it for repairs, it was on special that's why I bought it, now the price of it is much higher.

Out of curiosity, what seems to be the matter with it? Might be more cost effective to just have it fixed here than go through the hassle and risk of shipping.

The problem started when I put it on and it didn't read the 1TB M.2 NVMe and 240GB SDD attached to the pc. It was stuck on this screen IMG_20230420_170345.jpg
Then when I spoke to the supplier from china they told me to make some changes to the bios.Alibaba1301028539.png
The it started reading the 240GB SSD, so I reloaded windows on it and I am using it now.

But it's not reading the 1TB M.2 NVMe.

What's basically happening now is this screen for about five minutesIMG_20230420_170345.jpg
Then it reads the 240GB and goes into windows 11.

It never used to take so long to load, it used to take seconds to log into windows before.

.the duties ,taxes, vat ,freight wont be cheap to send back and return it .have the psu tested first it may have an underload problem that is hampering it .what voltage and current is the psu rated at ?have you tried a different psu ?a multi functional laptop unit set to the right voltage may solve the issue .it would need to be able to give 5amp probably at 19 volt ,spec will be on the original psu .that would be my first starting point .if you must return it ,use a freight forwarder ,dont use local delivery guys ,they will have a preffered forwarder but its gonna cost .also you may need to change the bios battery .edit ,ok so psu is 7 amp at 19 v or 140 watt ,quite a hungry little guy .

It's 1 year old, and it has a 3 year warranty with the supplier.
Firstly, you are assuming they'll honor the warranty. Most Chinese sellers will not
Secondly shipping it back will be so expensive that you may as well buy a new unit.
When it comes back to SA you'll be charged VAT all over again.

If you do follow through with sending the unit for repairs, make very sure you have all of your paperwork in place. At work we had in item delayed at customs for 6 weeks because the paperwork was not done properly.

Here is a handy guide on what have to be done and what procedures need to be followed.

I checked it now Idle is 12w, watching a movie is like 18-20w

I have not tried a different psu, this is the ac adapter that it came with.IMG-20230425-WA0000.jpg

I will try to change the bios battery and see if that works
