If you're not going to have it repaired locally instead, just make damn sure that you insure your shipment to China.



And if you insure the parcel, insure it at the current replacement value.

Firstly, you are assuming they'll honor the warranty. Most Chinese sellers will not
Secondly shipping it back will be so expensive that you may as well buy a new unit.
When it comes back to SA you'll be charged VAT all over again.

I contacted the seller, they will cover the cost of sending it back to me, I just need to cover the cost shipping it to them.

I checked it now Idle is 12w, watching a movie is like 18-20w

I will try to change the bios battery and see if that works

also check the heatsink plate under the top cover that its secured ,but my initial thought is bios batt and psu ,i was close at 19v and 5 amp .depending on the plug a sony laptop psu or a lenovo all in one should fit ,cash converters may have second hand units for cheap .i really cant see it being motherboard related,try a cheap hard drive as well ,unless you had a mains spike ,but they wont warranty that ,the capacitors on the board will show if its a spike .

I will try out everything that you suggested on Thursday, I don't have time now because of work. I will be going to a friend's house then I can use his psu and insert the 1TB M.2 NVMe into his computer to check if it's working.

Many years ago I had to return a product to China,
I don't remember all the details, but I used the slowest and cheapest SAPO shipping, and when the replacement arrived I submited to SARS the invoice from the previous time (They said it's allowed), and I didn't pay additional taxes as far as I can remember.

up untill a few years ago we used to send all returns electronics related back to france via sapo, marked as damaged goods ,warranty, no commercial value , never ever had an isuue .
